Full Moon Ski/Snowboard at Sandia Ski Area

Update: WE NEED WAIVERS PRINTED OUT AND SIGNED BY EACH PERSON !

Come out for a full moon adventure evening at Sandia Peak Ski Area. We will meet at the parking area directly off of Hwy 536(we will NOT use the Sandia ski area parking lot).

Post in the comments section below if you want to carpool from the Smith's grocery store at Central and Tramway

It could take at least 30 minutes to drive from the intersection of Central/Tramway to the Sandia Ski area if you have not done the drive previously and due to winter driving conditions.

Please be at least 10 minutes early, we will start at the posted time and not wait for stragglers. Please get there at least 10 minutes early to have enough time to get your gear ready!  BRING THESE WAIVER PRINTED OUT AND SIGNED BY EACH PERSON ! <- CLICK HERE

Any non-motorized equipment is fair game. Most of us snowshoe up and ski or snowboard down, but you can hike/run/snowshoe up and down if you want. We had one member sled down a few years ago! This usually takes us 1.5 to 2 hours. We will walk straight up the ski run under chair lift #3. It is 1.4 miles up and 1.4 miles down. 1660 feet elevation gain up and 1660 feet down. Bring whatever lights, headlamps, food and beverage you need.

Rules for the event: You must RSVP on our Meetup site by Tuesday the day before to let us know you are coming out. You cannot RSVP for this event via our Facebook site. YOU MUST SIGN THIS WAIVER !

THINK SNOW!

Possible follow up dates in  March will be finalized at the REI Adventure Race presentation/clinic

    Jeff/Kim--
What are the rules with regards to accessing this part of the mountain? Is it only allowed after hours, or can I go during the day also? I'm thinking about going this weekend and then again on Tuesday night. Thanks.

popular runs... I mean also obviously you can't ride the chair lifts if you don't buy a ski lift ticket

I was out there last Friday night at ~9pm, no moon and hiked up - none of the snow cat operators said anything to me... tons of stars to see and luckily no wind at the top so it was quiet as a library at the top since High Finance was shut down too

My wife Taylor and I will be there! 2 of our friends might also come. She is also excited about doing an adventure race for her first time this year too!

    Are my labs welcome???

hi Tim, dogs are welcome but you'll have to keep an eye on them, other members have brought dogs in the past without any problems - last year, a club member had to stay late on the hill looking for his dog who wandered off on the hike back down
