Training/Find a Team-mate Meet n' Greet

We're moving this to Sunday morning to avoid a conflict with the ABQ Bike Swap at Sport Systems on Saturday. Support cycling in ABQ and pick up some cheap gear at the sale!

This session will be your first chance to test your navigational map/compass skills on foot and on bike with your teammates. Bring out that buddy or significant other who you've been trying to introduce to AR. This will be a friendly introduction to the sport If you are looking for teammates use the comments section below or email us at nmarclub at gmail.com and we will try to pair you up.

This 2 hour course will be set with easy and difficult checkpoints to find. Your team will receive a pre-plotted map, instructions and a sheet of pictures. You will be looking for man-made objects to match with pictures and you will use the camera on your smartphone to photograph yourself at the checkpoint. The challenge will be for you to organize a route that maximizes CP's within the time allotted. Children are welcome!

Pre-race meeting at 7:45ish am. Training session starts at 8am and has a 10am cut off. Bring enough food and water to last 2 hours.

The course is set up to hike first then bike. There will be a VERY simple bouldering section on the bike portion. If you want to be considered as completing the whole course you must find at least one hike CP and one bike CP.

Mandatory gear for both courses:

Mandatory hike gear: Trail shoes, Compass, Pack with bladder all per person.

Mandatory team gear: 1 cell phone with camera and 1 first aid kit per team

Mandatory bike gear: mountain bike, helmet, gloves, sunglasses, helmet, bike repair kit, helmet - please don't forget it - our insurance requires use of it

This training session happens rain or shine so bring appropriate clothing and layers.

Plan on having fun, being challenged, and enjoying our beautiful NM outdoors !

TEAMS: Teams of any size are allowed

Parking is very limited ! Please car pool, car pool, car pool whenever you can.

Due to the rain this morning, the event was a no-show. Only one team showed up and so I'm going to reschedule this training session. Please vote in the poll about which weekend you'd prefer to Super Sprint on.
