  • Every month the  New Mexico Cross Country Ski Club (NMCCSC) has a meeting for all members (plus any interested guests).  These meetings consist of a business portion, which is mostly some timely info about pending trips and snow conditions.  This is followed by a snack break and chance to visit, then a presentation by a guest speaker on a cross country ski related topic.  We are attempting to keep the business portion of the meeting a little shorter than has sometimes been the case in the past.

For the January 2017 meeting we will have Bob Rodgers speak on behalf of New Mexico Search and Rescue.  The overall scope of his presentation will deal with how the search and rescue process works from the time the group is contacted  until the victim is actually rescued.  This will include such things as how to go about contacting them, what information they will want from people who contact them, what the person making the contact and the victim should expect and what search and rescue might advise them to do until they are reached.  We all hope to keep such knowledge in the realm of the hypothetical, but there are very real reasons this organization exists.  Bob will also tell us a little bit about the search and rescue group as far as the people who work/volunteer on behalf of NMSAR.

    Non-members very welcome.
