Wednesday Mid Day Hike Green Mountain Loop From Chataqua

Wednesday is Hike Day, let's do a tougher hike by heading up to Green Mountain from the Ranger Station. Based on the Park Map we will head out from the Ranger Station then Bluebell Baird to Ampitheater (sometimes you see wild climbers and animals crossing the trail in that area), Saddle Rock, E.M Greenman to the summit. We will then loop back on Gregory Canyon to the gentle Baseline trail, in total it's less than 6 miles.

Since this is a tougher longer loop hike make sure that you have water, a snack for energy, layered cloathing, and depending on the weather traction control devices may be needed.

It's not an extreme hike but since it's a loop you should be fairly aclimated to the elevation and in decent shape. I'll stay with you.

The hike should take approximately 3 hours.

Hope to see you there!

I am new to Boulder and don't see a ranger station on the linked map. Is that near the Chatauqua parking lot? Is there a decent amount of parking there too? We will be coming from 4th and Mapleton if anyone needs a ride

Yes it is the green, and only, building by the trail head, I'll be at the rock to the right, so far there are 8 of us, give or take, weather should be great 50 degrees, because of the recent snow bring yaks or micro spikes if you have them, should be ok with out if you have good shoes.

There is parking after you turn up into the park real close to the trail, if not there's additional parking to the left of the ranger station, since it is Wednesday morning it shouldn't be to crowded. Bring water and a snack since it's a longer hike.

Sounds like a good hike, wish I could have made it; views from the top of Green Mountain are spectacular!
