We had a successful Meet Up this morning, so I figured lets make it a regular meet up for the winter. We explored the new North American Mammal exhibit and then let the babies play in the Hall of Gems. So after the New Year we will try to do it every Monday at 10:30
Check out the Dinosaurs, Big Blue Whale, Live Butterfly exhibit (these are timed tickets so we can figure out at a later point in time), Food Court, and more...
Info about the museum:
*Museum is very large- covers 77th - 81st street and spans from Central Park West to Columbus Ave.
*the "suggested donation" is $16 for adults - which translates to pay what you wish. A $5 donation is certainly acceptable. A few of the dads in the group are members as well - so maybe a few of us can get in free as guests...
*Museum opens at 10am so I am told that if we go there around opening time it will be less crowded.
*they have a cafeteria/food court on the lower level if we get hungry
*The following entrances are accessible by wheelchair/stroller: 1. Rose Center for Earth and Space entrance: 81st Street, just west of Central Park West (wheelchair accessible) 2. Parking garage: 81st Street adjacent to Rose Center entrance (wheelchair accessible) 3. 77th Street entrance: 77th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue All of the Museum's exhibitions are accessible by wheelchair/stroller, and all public floors of the Museum can be reached by elevator.
Meetup SPOT: I suggest we meet up inside the 81st street main entrance to the Hayden Planetarium. It is stroller accessible and very open. I am pretty sure that there are benches in the little play area. You do have to go down 1 level in the elevator. Of course, you may call or email me with any questions or if you are running late.
