• Editor as Artist 👨‍🎤 at Apexart

    Apexart

NYC Filmmakers Meetup might be interested in apexart's upcoming exhibition, which showcases the role and impact of the video editor-as-artist. If you're in New York this November, please mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 1 from 6-8pm and join us for the opening reception of The Wonderful Wizards of Post, an exhibition organized by Emmy-Award winning editor Amanda Durett Cercone. http://apexart.org/exhibitions/cercone.php Taking cues Akira Kurosowa's 1950 film, Rashomon, in which four witnesses give contradictory accounts of a murder,The Wonderful Wizards of Post brings together four professional editors and gives each the challenge of editing the classic film, The Wizard of Oz. Can The Wizard of Oz become a horror film? A romance? A surreal experience? Or something entirely different? Would the good become evil and the evil become good? Watch and see what happens to this well-loved film. For additional information, check the exhibition’s website, or email us with any questions. Please help us spread the word, and we hope to see you there! Elizabeth -- Elizabeth Larison Director of Programs apexart 291 Church Street New York, NY[masked] www.apexart.org
