What we're about

We gather to have fun and make new friendships. It doesn't matter if you are new to NYC, or been here a while, we welcome you. We are a laid back group, we might visit museums, eat brunch, go to tea, go for walks and enjoy nature, but you won't find clubbing here. Suggestions for other activities are always welcome! Women ages 27-40 single, or married are welcome! In such a big city it often can be difficult to make friends and this group hopes to bring us all together. Come join us and meet new people and make new friends.

TBD-Explore Roosevelt Island and Meet New Friends (2)

Base of the Roosevelt Island tram station on Second Avenue at 59th Street

We will meet at the Tram stop. The tram uses a metro Card (believe its $2.75 each way now and if you have an unlimited metro card that worked for people last time). We will take the tram over to Roosevelt island, and walk around the island while getting to know each other. (For those that don't want to take the Tram or want to meet us on Rosevelt Island - the F train also goes to Roosevelt Island). There are lots of things to see: https://www.amny.com/things-to-do/roosevelt-island-nyc-what-to-do-eat-after-you-take-the-tram-1.13809955

TBD-Explore Governors Island and meet new friends(4)

Governers IsIand

Depending on what time you take the ferry - there could be a $2 ferry fee (from Manhattan and Brooklyn). (So make sure you have cash, because I'm not sure if they take credit card). There is also apparently an East River Ferry, but this costs $6. Here is a link to ferry information/schedules. (http://govisland.com/info/ferry-schedule) There usually is a long line outside the ferry on the Manhattan side so this may affect which ferry you take. I'll probably arrive at the terminal at 10:30AM so If you are in line afterwards tell me where you are in line so we can try to stand together. (Just message me from meetup.) This can be difficult to coordinate so I can't guarantee we can all line up together). (Directions to terminal are in the first link.). For those coming from Brooklyn or the East River Ferry, once I arrive on the island I'll post a meetup location. It will be located near the Manhattan Ferry drop-off. The idea is that we all meet on GI around 11:30AM. The plan is that we spend the day on Governors Island (GI) and explore and have a picnic lunch (bring your own food/drink, or money to buy lunch on the island.) You can NOT bring Alcohol, but if you want to enjoy a drink you can purchase a drink on the island and drink it in a designated area ( http://govisland.com/activities/food) . You might also want to bring a towel or small blanket to sit on. I'll bring a blanket, or table cloth so a couple of us can share. (This will be placed on the grass, so if you bring something make sure you don't mind if if gets a little dirty). Plan on being outside for the day. Here is more info about the food and bathrooms on the island: http://govisland.com/info/visitor-services In case of rain/heat this meetup will be rescheduled.
