**THIS IS AN ADVANCED HIKE ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED BACKPACKERS WITH ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT.**
This will be a 2 night, 3 day backpack over Memorial Day Weekend. The hike will be approx. 32 miles with significant elevation. We will cover the famed section of the Long Trail know as the Monroe Skyline. This section is known for being extremely rugged with scrambles, long and smooth sections of granite and ladders. It is also BEAUTIFUL. We'll traverse 3 - 4000 ft. peaks, Mount Abraham, Mount Ellen and Camels Hump and many smaller mountains along the way. This trip is also right on the tail end of mud season, expect muddy trails and wet rocks to add to the fun (pack gaiters).
This is a tough hike loaded with quite a bit of elevation, but includes some of the nicest views in the Vermont. Expect lots difficult scrambling on sections of the hike, some time above treeline and plenty of extended climbs. Add a heavy backpack and this will be a tough trip.
