As of Jan 1st: Single beds and a queen bed (private room) are available for the whole trip.
There are seven resorts in the Tahoe area, offering a great mix of terrain from beginner slopes to double black diamond glades and backcountry areas. We'll be based nearly the Heavenly resort, which is one of the largest in the area, but it is a short drive to other resorts too.
And of course there is great snowshoeing and other winter sports too if you don't want to ski every day.
I have the house from January 31st to Feb 10th (covering two weekends) so there is some some flexibility about arriving and departing.
I found a great 5 bedroom house just 1.5 miles from Heavenly Gondola and on free skier shuttle bus route.
There is a good mix of sleeping arrangements: 1 king bedroom, 1 queen bedroom, 3 bedrooms with two double beds each, three futons/sleeper sofas
Tons of amenities: Outdoor hot tub! full kitchen + a kitchenette; dining room for 10 people; 4 full bathrooms; ping pong table; pool table; outdoor grill; internet with wifi; parking for 4 cars; Washer/dryer; towels and linens provided;
Lodging Costs: $65/night = $325 per trip. Let me know if you'd like custom dates, although the cost is mostly per trip.
The King & Queen rooms are double occupancy ($130/night). The rate for the futons in the common areas are negotiable.
Payment and Refunds: Full payment for is due when you book your spot. I can offer a 50% refund if I can fill your spot.
- Food - We can organize some group meals
- Ski Gear - $30 to $50 if you're renting
- Lift Tickets - Figure $70/day if you buy online in advance.
- Car rental - Hopefully people can share, although you can take the shuttle from Reno and ski heavenly without a car
- Flights - Reno and Sacramento are the best options
I strongly suggest trip insurance in case of winter storms, illness, etc.
Try to avoid layovers at Chicago or other winter storm prone cities.
Ask for a car with winter tires (which is more important than all-wheel drive)
