WHAT: Join us as we walk along the Hudson River Greenway (http://goo.gl/maps/ldJJp) starting at 125th Street and ending at Battery Park.
WHY: Exercise, meet new people, friendly chitchat, photography, people-watching, boats, barges, seagulls, terns, statues, art, etc
WHERE: Meet at 125th Street and the Hudson River. See this link for the exact meeting spot: http://goo.gl/maps/CsmU1
• Take the 1 train to 125th Street and walk a few blocks west to the Hudson River. See this link: http://goo.gl/maps/yPue2
• You can also take the A, B, C, D, 2 and 3 trains to 125th, but it's a farther walk to the meetup spot.
WHEN: Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at 11am. We will wait 20 minutes for any latecomers. The walk will commence at exactly 11:20am
WHO: Look for a big group of people standing on the "corner" of 125th Street and the Hudson River. If you get to that spot between 11:00 and 11:20am you'll see us. If you arrive after 11:20 you will have to catch up.
PACE: The pace of the walk will be moderate, about 3.5 mph, but if you can't or don't want to walk that fast, no problem. You'll walk with a slower group. It's not a race.
DURATION: Approximately 4 hours
DISTANCE: 9 miles. If you can't do the entire walk or don't want to, please feel free to break away at any time.
REST: There will be one or two bathroom breaks along the way.
EAT: Anytime during the walk, if you feel like munching on a granola bar, a banana, trail mix or whatever, please feel free, but at the end of the walk we will find a place to get a bite. If you do not wish to join us, you don't have to.
RAIN DATE: Another time
My events are about meeting people and having fun. All ages are encouraged to attend: Single, married, couples, widows, gay, straight, black, white and everything in between. Just be friendly and have the ability to socialize with relative normalcy.
If you've never been to a meetup, don't worry, there are always new people. The event host is very nice and friendly. You can come alone or bring a friend or two or three. Upon your arrival I'll greet you and introduce you to some people. It's really quite painless.
