Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

At this phase of my life, I get the greatest joy out of exploring the outdoors in this beautiful, contoured part of the country we're lucky enough to live in.I will read the 'about us' page, as soon as I find it....and abide by safe hiking , and experience-approopriate guidelines.

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

yes, I understand that I must abide my the limitations of my current experience, while learning from others how to safely advance.

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes (<10m), long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, mountaineering, etc?

At this phase of my life, I can always enjoy a short, day hike, but with advanced notice, I can be prepared for longer, and weekend hikes, hoping to advance to exploring the world.....

What is your hiking experience? What are a few hikes you've done? (This information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.)

Unfortunately, since I firmly believe in the buddy system, and have only encountered couch-potatoes, and/or non-outdoor loving people, I consider myself an advanced beginner, but I am a determined, quick study! I will gladly, gradually, work my way up, as the limitations of my novice, middle-aged body allow. I am determined to NOT age before my time!!!

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

Unfortunately, due to previous committments, I'm still a slow/beginner, depending on the terrain, but anxious to attempt & become intermediate.....

Introduction

I'm Shirley. I have always loved the outdoors! I'm looking to expand my circle of outdoor-loving active friends., and explore local, easy to moderate hiking trails, preferably with my dog, Holly :)
