Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Yes - read the hiking level and gear sites too :-)

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Yes

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

Short and long easy day hikes in the beginning - haven't explored a lot of NY upstate yet.

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

Day trips, a few weekend trips in the Swiss Alps and the French Pyrenees, easy to medium trails, usually from dawn till dusk (including 2-4 hours transport in the am's and pm's). Shorter day trips of a few miles each on easy grounds (Bear *what's is called* Mountain in NY, Joshua Tree in California) in the last 12 months.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

I'm a decent runner (half-marathons so far) so endurance-wise could go for intermediate. As I want to do this for pleasure and with my (less-trained) husband, we'd go for the easy hikes first!

Introduction

Native German moved to Brooklyn 2 years ago for love (and it worked out, got married in July :-) Did lots of running in the last 18 months, would now like to do a few hiking trips in good company together with my husband.
