Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

I glanced at it, but haven't read it entirely yet. I will do so at my earliest convenience though! (The pictures there were AWESOME!)

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

I leave the city 4 New Paltz,Ellenville,Bear Mountain,Harriman, the Catskills,or any of the other fabulous places in close proximity to Madhattan almost every weekend(yeah, I have a car).I did a lot of backpacking in Morocco as a Peace Corps Volunteer

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

It depends upon my mood, the terrain, and whose butt I'm following : ) However, I'd say I'm in the fast hiking league for the most part, as I like to cover some ground - yet sniffin' the roses is fun too. . .

I'm Mike. Although I live in the urban jungle, my heart is in the woods, & I leave the pavement as often as possible. My professional background is in Outdoor Experiential Education, emphasizing in Adventure Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation.

What Michael Kim Jamal R. is saying about this Meetup Group

If you like well planned, fun organized hikes with nice people then this is your group! I had a Great Time on my first adventure, and look forward to playin' in the woods again with ya'all soon!
