Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Yes

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Yes

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

Mostly day hikes and weekend camping, but I'd be interested in some of the longer / more distant trips too.

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

I've bagged about 30 Munros (hills in Scotland over 3000ft). Some multiple hill / ridge walk trips included ~15 miles / 5000 ft of elevation. Mostly in warmer weather, but some winter hikes with crampons, ice axe and a little rope work.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

In the groups I've hiked with, I tend to be at or near the front, but I guess it's all relative.

Introduction

Hi, I'm Neil and I'm a big fan of hiking. When I lived in Scotland I was out in the hills quite often and I'm looking for more ways to escape the city now I'm in New York.
