Do you know the original meaning of the word ‘Republican’ as it appears in classical European history, political science and Article IV Sec. 4 of the US Constitution? (Answer: Yes or Want to Learn More)

No answer yet

What Freedoms do you cherish most in our Republic?

The fact that there is no limit to what you can achieve. You can be, do, and have anything you desire as long as you are willing to put in the required effort and make any necessary sacrifices.

What/who do you think are the immediate threats to these Freedoms?

The widespread propaganda that there is something wrong or even evil about succeeding and becoming rich. The ridiculous notion that everyone has a "right" to have an equal share of wealth regardless of the individual's effort. Basically, the demonization of the producers and the glorification of the "victims" The biggest threat is the loss of individual freedom in exchange for huge Federal Govt control. The "who" are those who are activly trying to destroy Capitalism and the fundamental principles this country was founded on.

(Optional) What can we do to engage Indie Voters in NY?

I think the biggest mistake by some in the Rep Party is their lack of acceptance of those who don't agree across the board on social issues. I am very concerned with our current economic conditions and the general direction towards Marxism. I've always been a registered Independent & feel that at this time, the only hope for the country is the Rep Party. Social issues should go on the back burner & Americans should be encouraged to vote Republican on economic principles. In my personal experience, those who are not particularly socially conservative seem to be the most turned off by any politician who sounds as if he or she is preaching religion. Although it seems irrational to me, I know there are many who would rather vote for Obama than have what they consider a religious zealot in the White House. We should concentrate on our economic mess, on which all Americans can unite, and leave religious issues for a later time when our country is back on the road to recovery.

What would you like to get out of this Meetup?

Have the opportunity to be in the company of like minded individuals. Perhaps contribute in some way to get our country back on the right path.
