Overview of the Corda Platform - Peter Li from R3 In this short talk, Peter will present an overview of the Corda platform, briefly discuss the concepts and functional features of Corda, and review both some use-cases and live CorDapps that are built on Corda. In addition, Peter will explain the structure of the wider Corda community and the role of R3. After, there will be an open discussion as a group where we can conduct Q & A to answer any questions you may have. An introduction to a CorDapp in the Real Estate sector - Flavio Almeida from Streetwire An overview of a Decentralized Application written in Kotlin, from a perspective of architecture, code and deployment. Flavio will present an overview the StreetWire real estate application built on Kotlin using R3's Corda open source platform deployed on Microsoft Azure, exploring the workings of the blockchain, Corda's framework, Kotlin code and technical aspects of the application. (food & drink provided) 7:00pm – KYC on Corda Tim Coates will introduce us to Project Leia, a KYC project, and one of the largest collaborative DLT efforts last year that includes 12 banks located across 4 continents. The project aims to solve the problems around data collection, data validation, customer experience and data privacy that plague current KYC processes in Corporate Banking. Tim will explain the project, and provide a demo. Bio: Tim leads Synechron’s blockchain product efforts working with large banks and technology platforms to design innovative DLT solutions. He works alongside an offshore team of 50 in the Synechron Blockchain Centre of Excellence. He co-led the solution design and development of LEIA2 with R3’s Matt Bradbury and 14 banks. The Self-Sovereign KYC Utility seeks to enable Corporate customers the guarantee of control over the content and distribution of their KYC data to banks as required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 7:30pm – Debugging Corda using a Mortgage Securities example James Schopp will give the business case for the Corda project that helped improve data dissemination for the SPV (special purpose vehicle) securitization process for private label mortgages. Yaakov Sash will then demo the above Corda project. Following the demo, Yaakov will demonstrate how to best leverage Corda’s dynamic dev environment by interactively debugging the Cordapp code. Bio: James is a Director of Credit Suisse in the Global Markets division, based in New York. He is Head of Securitized Products Finance IT, responsible for Wholeloan/ABS Mortgage Trading, Warehouse Financing, and ABCP Conduit Financing. James joined Credit Suisse Securitized Products in 2006. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, James has worked for IBM Global Services, Hewlett-Packard Image and Printing Group, Alliance Data Systems, and several dot-com era startups. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Florida State University. Bio: Yaakov is a Senior Blockchain Architect assisting companies of all sizes embrace DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology). Most recently, Yaakov was part of the engineering team from Credit Suisse and 3 other banks that built a proof of concept distributed ledger system to improve the data dissemination for the SPV (special purpose vehicle) securitization process for private label mortgages.
