This is a group for anyone interested in learning about what, how and why falls happen, how to prevent falls and what to do in the event of a fall. This group is also for caregivers or friends who are interested in ways to support their loved ones who may have suffered a fall, are coming home from rehab (how to get the home ready, etc). This group will learn ways to decrease risk of falls through an evidenced-based and holistic approach lead by an occupational therapy practitioner. The group includes Pilates, Yoga, Mindfulness, Ergonomic recommendations and current evidenced based practices in Fall Prevention interventions. I started this group as a way to help people who are at risk for falls or have fallen regain their independence and for caregivers to foster their own health and wellness while they support their loved ones' healing.
