What we're about
If you interested in bread, this meetup may be for you? Whether you bake it or buy it, eat it or have an arm's length relationship with it? Members will explore the variety, history, and flavors of this archetypal food, meet fellow bakers and eaters of bread, and generally have a good time.
Bread is part of humanity's DNA. It need not be made from white wheat flour. It belongs to all.
This meetup focuses on bread: its history, benefits, and risks, and especially on the rewards and challenges of baking (at home).
At each gathering there will be a tasting of breads (and associated foods) as well as talks and demonstrations relating to bread or grains.
The scent of bread is the fragrance of all fragrances; it is the primal fragrance of our earthly life, the fragrance of harmony, of peace and of home. —Jaroslav Seifert, 1984 Nobel Laureate in Literature
