As interactive producers/project managers, we know a big part of our job is getting things done - on time, on budget, and within scope. We spend time making sure our teams have the materials, instructions, specs and resources they need to do their jobs, and we are prepared to provide an accurate status update at pretty much every moment.
However, as producers we also have the knowledge and power to influence creative direction, strategy, technological development and so much more.
Based on experience, producers can and often do have opinions on decisions like creating a branded app vs an adaptive site, whether user generated content will improve a campaign, what data to track in Phase 1 in order to make informed decisions on how to enhance in Phase 2, etc. We can also help influence creative direction.
It's so much more than "getting things done," but sometimes producers can have a hard time getting their ideas heard or seen as more than a traffic cop, client wrangler & schedule enforcer.
Let's focus this meetup on how producers can and do help inform creative and technical development, as well as strategy and user experience, and how we can continue to position ourselves and thought leaders and digital experts, critical to the success of a project and the overall digital programs of our organizations.
