June MongoDB User Group

We will have three great presentations this month!

Julie Summerville, developer at Business Insider, will be presenting on MongoDB and the Doctrine ORM.

10gen engineer Brendan McAdams will present on the MongoDB Hadoop Connector. Brendan is fresh off presenting at Hadoop Summit in San Jose and is excited to show off what he and the community have built!

Finally, we'll have a lightning talk from Jim O'Hara on Dynamic Data Display With jQUery DataTables and MongoDB. DataTables is a jQuery plug-in for displaying data, it can display, plain html or can render a JSON data store as a formatted table in html. Display how to dynamically use the DataTables plug-in. I will explain how to create a Java Web application that utilizes Ajax calls to a MongoDB database and return JSON data.

If you're interested in speaking or doing a lightning talk at the June user group, please get in touch.

We'll also be celebrating Buddy Media's acquisition by We're truly grateful to Buddy Media for their support of 10gen, MongoDB and the New York MongoDB community and we look forward to the team's future successes!

Meet up was good up until the first presenter decided to go have a whisper conversation in the back. So distracting and rude man.

Some useful information. Might be better to have separate groups / sessions / talks relevant to specific types of MongoDB users - eg. one for programmers, one for admins, one for executive / decision makers.
