I'm a coach at this weekend's EDUTech Startup Weekend June 1-3 so if anyone here is in Virginia for it then it will be great to meet you.

I wanted to pass this announcement along on behalf of the DC MongoDB User Group. Looks like several members of the DC MUG are participating in an upcoming e-Government Startup Weekend on June 15-17

Have a great weekend,
Hey fellow Mongoons!
Heads up on two awesome Startup Weekends we're organizing this June. The first is this weekend (June 1-3) and it's all about EdTech. Held at Microsoft Reston (we'll have shuttles from DC if needed), come work with CIT Gap Funds, the State of Virginia, and US Dept of Ed to build groundbreaking apps and tools in and around ed data.
The second event is June 15-17, and it's our first ever e-Government event involving the Federal Government. Held at Microsoft Friendship Heights, one winning team will receive a spot in the finalist round of Code for America's Civic Accelerator (work with folks like Jeff Clavier and Ron Conway; relocation not required). We're working with a variety of local and federal agencies to source big ideas and key problems for attendees to tackle. Lots of data, again awesome mentors.
For those not in the know, Startup Weekend is a Seattle-based nonprofit that organizes hackathon-esque events in over 90 countries where designers, hackers, and hustlers come together to build sweet products and launch startups. Ticket proceeds go entirely towards food, drink, and supplies to make for an amazing weekend. Great opportunity to explore new hacks and ideas, meet others in the community, challenge yourself and find early-stage investors.
Hope to see some of you there!
