Using Social Media to Market your Blog

  • Aug 20, 2013 · 6:30 PM

You've set up your blog. Content is flowing like crazy. Now, what? Ah, we need to let the world know your blog exists.

There are heaps of ways to market your blog, but for this meetup session, we will focus on how we can leverage social media to create that buzz. Do we set up a Facebook page? Perhaps a G+ community or do we stick to Twitter followers? Pinterest can also be helpful, right?

Join in the discussion as we share our own experiences and get tips from other bloggers on how they've increased their readership through social media.

Wow! I missed this sorry. We are right in the middle of renovations and an extension to the house, and got so tied up in that - this meetup completely passed me by.

Hello everyone, nice to meet you and thanks for your supportive comments tonight around my getting some blogging underway for blogs about my review site!

I'm not a huge self promotion fan but I am interested in empowering others to speak about many of businesses we all deal with. However I will try to write more often than 3 times a year now thanks! :-)

If you would like to provide critique or feedback about what I'm doing then please get in touch.

I have also started what is currently a newborn meetup group called Customer Feedback Counts and our first meeting has only 3 people, so I'm pretty sure you would not struggle to be heard at our inaugural meeting :-)

The review site is in Beta and offline to those without a password to the full site which you can request if you wish.

    Once again thanks.

See you all tomorrow night. Oh, and for those who've been to the venue last time, Degree told me they've added fans so it's not too hot and temperature should be a bit more comfortable. Yay! :)

Here's my 2 cents worth Q for you. Because we are bloggers why do we have to physically meet [especially somewhere really annoying like the city]? Why not have conversations here? Anyone agree?

As Stacey had pointed out, a few of us do use the G+ page. It would be great to see a few more comments there.

Thanks Stacey, Mark, and Jo for your input and support. It is unfortunate that Kellie decided to leave the group. Anyway, let's keep on moving forward as we meet every fortnight (face-to-face) and continue as well online through the G+ community.

I'm not able to be there so I probably have no right to put my two cents in, but to me I think discussing Instagram could be worthwhile too, it has a higher usage than say google+

Always good to get your two cents. :) cool will add it on the list. Thanks for the valuable input.

Sadly I cannot make this meetup due to another commitment that night but I came across an article today in my blog feed which may be relevant to this discussion so thought I would share: http://heartifb.com/2013/08/05/are-you-spending-too-much-time-in-social-media-and-not-on-your-blog/
