A book club in SE London, everyone welcome. We meet once a month currently upstairs at The Rose pub opposite New Cross Gate station, on a Monday or a Tuesday at 7pm to discuss a book chosen by those who attended the previous one. There isn't a particular theme to this book club but we'll read more or less equal numbers of books by female and male authors.
March book is an intriguing read! Looking forward to discuss this book at The Rose Pub across New Cross Gate on 25/03/2019 at 1900 hours 📚
“Heady and rambunctious.... Wake up, this book says: in its plot lines, in its humour, in its philosophical underpinnings and political agenda. I'll pay it the highest compliment it knows - this book is a wild thing." ( New York Times Book Review)”🤩
more (short!) non-fiction - suggested by Graham, and written by the guy who's in those "Dutch historian who savaged Davos elite"/ "Fox News Tucker Carlson" videos...
"We need a new movement. One defined by a young historian who can tell us the truth about how we got here. They'd be a political outsider, the voice of their generation, one who doesn't harness rage or agitate grievances but who provides us with the answers for which we've been looking. That person is Rutger Bregman, and his vision is Utopia for Realists."
