While finding some authentic bites in Manhattan might seem difficult these days with mom & pop shops closing left and right, the situation for the borough isn't as bleak as one may think — hop on a subway toward one of the island's most northern neighborhoods to find a community with more mouth-watering dishes than even your second stomach can handle.
Join New York Adventure Club (https://www.nyadventureclub.com/) as we venture through the Manhattan neighborhood of Washington Heights to learn about, and taste our way through, the culinary scene of one of New York's most diverse communities.
Led by local neighborhood expert and Washington Heights local Myra Alperson, our unique culinary experience will include:
• A custom-made NY Adventure Club route to showcase some of the best Washington Heights eateries hiding in plain sight
• The origin story of how the Dominican, Salvadoran, and Russian communities ended up settling in Washington Heights, and how they now define the neighborhood
• An eclectic mix of neighborhood bites including Salvadoran pupusas, Dominican fish soup, and frozen chocolate covered cheesecake from a Russian grocery store
• Stops at the neighborhood's most notable landmarks, from the largest theatre on Broadway to sweeping views of the Hudson River
*Your ticket includes tastings at every eatery on the tour
**Restrooms are not available along the tour route
***This experience concludes at the entrance to Fort Tryon Park
