Newcomers' Orientation Course for Non-EU Nationals

Many newly-arrived persons, accompanying spouses, and family members do not enjoy the benefit of a relocation package and are left to find their own way regarding administrative procedures and settling in to their new life in the Grand Duchy. Following the success of the first pilot courses held in 2014 (previously called "First 90-Day Course), AMCHAM Luxembourg is pleased to announce the launch of “Newcomers Orientation Courses for Third-Country Nationals” as of December 2015.

These courses are organized under the auspices of and with the funding support of the “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund” (AMIF) and the Luxembourg Reception and Integration Agency/Ministry of Family and Integration (OLAI). Due to the funding specifics, these course offerings in English and Portuguese are targeted for attendance by non-EU citizens, legally residing in Luxembourg. Because of the AMIF and OLAI funding support, we are very pleased to be able to offer these 6 hour long Saturday courses free of charge. Our thanks to ING for sponsoring the lunches!

Topics covered:  Bureaucracy, your local commune, working life, day to day living, tax card, renting, utilities, phone and internet, TV, radio and the press, history, geography, politics, insurance, vehicles, driving and transportation, education, music tuition, health scheme, child allowance, culture, etiquette and customs, leisure and entertainment, shopping, expat organisations, sports, music, cycling, recycling, integration, and much, much more.

The courses will be repeated 12 times per year, with 6 courses in English and 6 courses in Portuguese. You can now register for any of these courses on the AMCHAM website.

If you have never registered on the AMCHAM website,  you will first need to register your personal details at the following link:  h ttp://www.amcham.lu/membership/register/. You will then be able to sign up for the course with your email address and password by clicking the  green “Signup” button above.

Once you have registered your participation  Natalia Durus, AMCHAM’s Communications Director, will send you all the details by email. Please contact  Natalia for any questions you might have. If you know of someone who is eligible and interested in attending these courses, please refer them to the AMCHAM website for registration.
