With the new reflecting pool finished let's get some photos we haven't been able to get in a while.

Thanks Joey for reminding me that the reflecting pool is open again!

I think I will have to start planning some Sunrise Meetups. They should be close to a coffee house!

Right now, sunrise is currently better than sun set Ive been going every Saturday morning for the last 4-5 weeks. The sky is changing and when the sunrises, things like Lincolns face illuminate, the Vietnam Wall has tremendous reflections, FDR, Jefferson and MLK, can be done later because it takes more time for the sun to get high enough to effect them. I can say from experience, be set up by 6 am, any later, and you've missed it...

Generally if you ate not on "marble" and you are not doing a professional shoot a permit is not needed. Was just there Saturday evening/night. Had no issues. That Sao it will be dependent on who is working. They just ask you to move on. I have never been bother. Also permits are not cheap. If you don't bing tons of gear (flashes stand etc) you should be fine. Www.facebook.com/denisesilvaphotography if you want to see what I got. Every image I used a tripod. Inside Lincoln is a challenge. Those I just laid on ground and used my body to support camera.

Any plans for a location for this meet up? Just trying to plan a bit ahead. Thanks!

The drive is about two for me as well. And I am currently grabbing lunch in front royal and it is not raining. I understand how some people including yourself may not want to come but you had 61 people say yes. I thinking there is a better way then canceling.

So I had planned on the Shenandoah meet up. In fact I chose to get a room so I would not have to worry about the late night. And because of a little weather it is canceled? Really? What a total let down. We are going either way. Last time we got great lightning and deer in the morning fog.

Yes Denise, most of the group is driving a minimum of one hour, for me it would be a bit over two hours and most would not be staying the night. With that in mind I decided to cancel the Meetup.
