     Hello VidiWeb Techies,
This mailing is from Nickalf, the
MeetUp Organizer of the MU/Webcasting group you joined..

I've only just found out that many, if not all, of
my previous mailings have not be sent out due to a glitch
so I've included just two that are still relevant and TWO
      items are time sensitive...

I'll be send our first meeting information later today..

  1) Sent May 4th:
Good news. If you're interested in going to the Media East
2010 conference 'The Business & Technology Of Online Video' on
     May 11-12, 2010 (pre-conference Workshops: Monday May 10) at
the Hilton New York - I 'pulled some strings' and got us Free
Passes to the Exhibit (normally $25) and $100 off the
registration fees to any of the conference programmes.

Reply to me and I'll send you the info....

I plan to go Tuesday, if you want to join me, but if you'd
prefer to go Wednesday with me, I can switch..

For full details on the Conference, click the link to our
     Website below...

  2) Sent 6am this morning: (only 11 hours left for the FREE s/w)
I 'attended' an interesting and fairly informative Webinar
on Thursday 'Stream Like A Pro'. Though the emphasis was more
about promotion, there were some useful tips to pick up on
how to Webcast - though not cheaply. Available for 30 days:
     http://www.stream...

Don't forget Media East 2o1o starts Monday, if you're going.

Today, and only for 20 more hours as of this mailing,
Digiarty Software have a double free offer for their WinX
digital video converter one for Wimpdows and one for the
     Mac. http://GiveawayOf... Though the software
is not for streaming, you may find it useful (as I have)
to use as an intermediate step for converting some video
formats ready to put on the Web...

It's worth getting on the mailing list of GoTD.com as
they literally have free 'legal' software every day given
by the individual companies as a promotion (they get a lot
of feedback during the 24 hours it's available posted on
     GoTD.com)

For a Mac site that offers reduced priced software:
      - I use http://MUPromo.co...

At a conference I attended yesterday (small business
related) the topic of online video streaming came up and all
attention was turned to me - I got bombarded with business
cards after the meeting and all because I mentioned I knew
how to 'stream' and was building a /Webcasting group, plus
could offer the facility for the production (and post)..
What I'm getting at is: there's rapidly becoming a huge
interest in streaming video on the Web now that the technology
allows pretty good quality, even on a low-band connection, and
the price to do has come down so much. I quoted a rock band
$15,000 for a weekend shoot and Webcast just five years ago
and now it could be done for around $3,000-$5,000

                                              Exciting times...

I am going to have our first MeetUp in Hoboken, so to
accommodate both our New York members as well as us Jerseyites,
so once it's on the Website, 'please' RSVP as soon as you know
if you can make it, Maybe can make it, or can't. Thanx..

Please let me know you got this,
                                                        Nick. . . . .
