WILD CARD event! "What does that mean" you ask? Its easy, once a month, a WILD CARD event will take place. During the event a "competition" will be launched and a prize is awarded for the best WILD CARD participant. The WILD CARD event will always be posted at least 1 week in advance. The competition is open to any volleyball players whom attend the Tuesday volleyball.
This week's WILD CARD event is "HAWAIIAN THEME".
The possibilities are endless and up to you. Judges (two will be randomly selected) will critique you on the following criteria: Best use of Hawaiian theme.
P.S: We still need to obey township by-laws, so that probably means no (lit) tiki fire-torches in the park.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
TUESDAY NIGHT VOLLEYBALL IS BACK!! This is the 2nd year in a row and I'm hoping attendance this year will continue to be just as booming hot as it was last summer.
Last summer was a true success and a BIG HIT! We played at 6pm sharp, some nights, going until 10pm/11pm. This group demonstrated a desire for co-operation through working as a team, we had minimal drama because cliques are non-existant, and our injury record was 0. Experienced players did not refrain from engaging in teachable moments with newer players.
However, it is important to remember this is volleyball and not "slap ball". Players should promote a modest effort to honor the traditional 3-hits, however, this is not an absolute requirement nor will anyone be chastised for occasionally hitting the ball over with one hit.
CHANGES FOR THIS SEASON:
- Rules will be a little more slack (i.e. nets and dinks).
- Players should come prepared with knowledge of basic play concepts (i.e. bump, set, hit).
