Watch The 2017 Best of NoCo Music + Video Roundup
I know the holidays are already crammed full of jolly events, so I wanted to skip planning another year-end rager (perhaps helping us all ease into 2018) and invite you instead to a mid-January celebration of… well… frankly… how awesome you were in 2017. Check it out! Our small but mighty cluster of producers, musicians, filmmakers, crew members, broadcasters, educators, and organizers (powered by the City of Fort Collins Cluster Grant, CSU, The Music District, The Colorado Sound, KRFC, Rocky Mountain PBS, VuHaus, Mishawaka, Aggie Theatre, Open Streets, and others) put out dozens of projects in 2017 and helped share the story of Northern Colorado music and video with new audiences. To celebrate, we're teaming up with The Lyric for a one-night-only screening event for local music and video fans & supporters. Join The Lyric, The Music District, Create Places, and 105.5 The Colorado Sound to rub elbows with local music + video makers and discover highlights and behind the scenes stories from the mini-documentaries, live performance videos, and concept videos produced by Northern Colorado's Music + Video Cluster in 2017. 2017 Best of NoCo Music + Video Roundup PUBLIC TICKETS (coming soon): CAST & CREW RSVP: Total Running Time: 60 mins, plus meet & greet. FACT: Fort Collins is a growing music city set in an awesome network of Northern Colorado creative communities—and we have the videos to prove it! Our best of 2017 includes Sylvan Esso, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Blind Pilot, The Reminders, Rob Drabkin, Qbala Music, A Giant Dog, Brent Cowles, SHEL, FUTUREBIRDS, Dragondeer, Paper Bird, Slow Caves, Edison, and MORE! With participation from CSU RamProductions, Paradiddle Productions, NoCoast Artists, EvrGlo Media, Fat Gorilla Productions, Nic Tapia, Blueshoe Media, Rival Mind Media, Dropoff Productions, Daniel Butcher, Shane Zweygardt, Adsortium Media, and MORE!

What we're about

Public Group

Interested in filmmaking? Are you an actor, camera person, script writer, makeup artist, or otherwise interested in being involved with film creation? Do you live in Northern Colorado? Then you're perfect for this group!

NoCo Filmmakers is for the filmmaking community in Northern Colorado. The word community is important here because we look for opportunities beyond just developing a network of industry professionals who are here to make their living. We welcome new and emerging filmmakers to our ranks, and we look for opportunities to connect with and support each other in creative ways as we write, edit, film, and exhibit here in Colorado.

If you have a specific project you are seeking help for, please post in the forums. And if you are looking to help others out with their projects, keep an eye out on the group for announcements!

A regular meetup wasn't a component of this group in 2015, but many of us would love to get together monthly for filmmaker networking, fun and/or professional development. That means we are going to incorporate regular meetups into our 2016 plans. Please help this new effort by suggesting kind of event(s) you'd find value in attending regularly.

What we are talking about here is *watching our own movies.* To make this happen, we rely on each other as members to suggest meetups whenever you know of a local filmmaker showing their work. Why? Attending screenings together builds community and creates a culture of filmmakers supporting each other. If that's not enough incentive to come to the movies with us, consider that you may want an audience that knows how much work goes into filmmaking at your own screening some day. ;o)
