Wine Tasting: Zin-ful Thoughts

Ah, Zinfandel-- that most American of grapes. Big, bold, brash, meaty, jammy, full and lush and yet surprisingly elegant. Well, we've got some delightful Zinfandels for you to try! From the Central Coast to Sonoma Valley to the Sierra Foothills, Zin grows anywhere there is a bit of love and a lot of sun. And don't forget about Zinfandel's foreign cousin, Primativo-- genetically close, yet distinct in flavor.

- D'Arie "Break Away" Zinfandel 2009 (Sierra Foothills, CA)
- Cline "Ancient Vines" Zinfandel 2012 (Contra Costa, CA)
- Layer Cake Primativo "aka Zinfandel" 2011 (Puglia, Italy)
- Jubileo "Zapata" Zinfandel 2009 (Baja California, Mexico)
- Ridge "Three Valleys" Blend 2011 (Sonoma County, CA)
- Opolo "Mountain Zinfandel" 2012 (Paso Robles, CA)
- Michael David "Earthquake" Old Vine Zinfandel 2011 (Lodi, CA)

As usual, we'll start off with a quick discussion about smelling, tasting, pairing, buying and storing wine. Gourmet small bites will be paired, but you may want to plan on dinner after. Please pay via Paypal when you RSVP. If you don't eat/like any particular food, let us know in advance! ([masked])
