Coming Home to Our True Nature: 3-Days with Joan Ruvinsky (July 5-8, 2013)

Nondual Retreat with Joan Ruvinsky: Coming Home to Our True Nature
Garrison, NY
July 5-8, 2013

Coming home is realizing there has never been a departure, that each point on journeys seemingly undertaken has been here all along, that the times on the itinerary all read “now.”

This predominately silent 3-day retreat explores the recognition of our inherent non-separation through the myriad of practices from the nondual Tantric tradition, including quiet sitting, body and breath sensing, iRest® yoga nidra, inquiry dyads, chant as well as outdoor practices from the Vijnana Bhairava.

Four gatherings in community per day are interspersed with free time for contemplation and integration. The gift of silence allows true listening to emerge. Each day dialogues deepen the understanding that is uncovered as the retreat progresses.

Paradoxically, this retreat fulfills one of the requirements for the Integrative Restoration Institute iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher Certification.

Retreat Location: Garrison Institute, Rt 9D at Glenclyffe, Garrison, NY 10524

Garrison Institute is situated on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River with 95 acres of trails, ponds, meadows and scenic vistas. This gracious and hospitable environment includes a beautiful monastic wood-beamed dining room, elegant zen-style bathrooms, jacuzzis and comfortable lounges on each floor. The tranquil building and spacious grounds invite silence and contemplation. Located one hour north of New York City’s Grand Central Station, Garrison offers complimetary shuttle service from the nearby Garrison Landing Metro North train station.

This 3-day silent retreat begins with dinner on Friday, July 5 and ends with lunch on Monday, July 8. The $585 cost includes 3 nights accomodation (triple or quad room with shared bath) and vegetarian meals. Double upgrades are available for an additional $50. About pathless yoga

In 1989, after 13 years of attempts at path-finding, Joan Ruvinsky met Jean Klein, who, having never taken himself to be a teacher, eliminated the need to be a student, to have a path, a method or a goal. At home in these nondual wisdom teachings, Joan shares body sensing yoga, conversation and presence at her center Pathless Yoga La voie sans voie in Montreal and at retreats in Canada and the US. She has kept close fellowship with Richard Miller and Éric Baret since their days together with Jean Klein.

Joan has the regular approbations from Integral Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy and Yoga Alliance E-RYT500. She offers satsang and the occasional seminar on body sensing, yoga history and philosophy, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and iRest® Yoga Nidra, in both French and English.
