Cluttering is a speech disorder that in many ways is similar to stuttering, but is actually much different than stuttering. It is most often described as a "mild stutter," or that the person is nervous or doesn't know what they are trying to say. Unique to cluttering is the clutterer typically does not know about cluttering. Probably most people who will be reading this will be friends or family of clutterers, because clutterers think their speech is fine. The best way to tell if someone has cluttering is looking for excessive disfluencies. Disfluencies are: a) Repetitions ("I will..I will...I will...go to the store")
b) Interjections (filler words like "uh," and adding seemingly random words and phrases in the middle of other thoughts)
c) Revisions ("I'm going for Wal-Mart," crossing out a thought, and replacing it with something else)

Examples: Cluttering: "I want to go to the where you st-st-store and I don't have muh-muh ti-ti-time money." Stuttering: "I want to go to the sssssssssstore and I don't have muh-muh- muh-muh-money." ************************************************************************************

Cluttering is a speech and communication disorder.

The purpose of this group is to start a social group for people who clutter (PWC), who can just hang out in a safe, fun, comfortable environment once a month for an hour or so. It will be a friendly, casual and informal get together to meet and network with other PWC.

Activities and discussions can include anything and everything. Or nothing at all. We'll try to have the meetings at places where we can have a few snacks or lunch and then you can leave spending the rest of the day checking out the local area.

I envision this group growing into fun activity events, ie bbq's, snowboarding, bike riding, motorcycling, vid games, kids events, etc. Hopefully we can create some life long relationships.

Anyone can join us. All we ask is that you be kind and compassionate towards one another.
