• What we'll do
Hello Ramblers! Together with Friends of Kett's Heights we have special treat for lovers of nature, history, amazing views and secret locations. You probably heard about Robert Kett and Kett's Rebelion but not a lot of people know about small secluded park just between Ketts Hill and Gas Hill, where Friends of Kett's Heights been busy restoring the park to it's former glory. There among the trees, snowdrops and old church ruins you can admire amazing and unique views of the city.
Vanessa from the Friends group will show you around the park telling you about its history and features. Tours usually last around 45 minutes, the park is on the side of the hill with quite few steps and narrow paths. Some of them can be a bit slippery and muddy but there are handrails in the tricky spots and the tour will be friendly for beginner walkers and dogs. Tour will be free, however if you'd like to support Friends of Kett's Heights they will gratefully receive any small donations. I also recommend visiting nearby Cafe Britannia after the walk. Its location also offers stunning views of the city.
