Over 2550 years ago, the child who would become the historical Buddha first set foot on this earth.
Join us as we celebrate his birth with a day of offering the traditional Bathing Buddha Ceremony and Animal Liberation Ceremony saving lives. We will be led by our precious Lama, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche.
The first part of the day, from 10:00 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m. will be at our Dharma Center in San Jose, You will feel like you just entered a Pure Land when you arrive! Lama Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche will bring the Buddha's holy relics to our Dharma Center. It is said that viewing holy relics inspires us to develop our own hearts and minds, to develop loving-kindness and compassion and to understand spiritual teachings. We will also be offering prayers and each of us will have the opportunity to offer a bath to the Buddha.
We will take a lunch break and then we will meet at 5 p.m at our center in San Jose, to do an Animal Release or Liberation Ceremony. "In terms of creating good karma, Buddhism teaches that nothing surpasses saving the life of a being facing imminent death".
"Through Rinpoche's wisdom he created the abode of the Buddha. The beautiful mandala of the Buddha, the bathing bath and offerings to the Buddha. He created the methods of prostration, offering, confession, rejoicing, praise, requesting, beseeching and dedicating that help all of us to connect with the essence of the Buddha within our own minds. So that we can feel the power within our own minds to rise up beyond the delusion and discover an inner peace and happiness that can be shared and discovered by all. This is a very special day. Also to have an opportunity to see Buddha's relics in a life time is precious, but to be able to sit and cultivate for hours in front of these relics is even more precious. All of this is the manifestation of the kindness of Rinpoche, of his humble dedication and diligence to help all of us so that we may help others and through this effort all beings may quickly reach Enlightenment."
So join on us Tuesday for as little or as long as you wish. We would love to have you celebrate with us on this very happy day that only comes once a year.
This is a very powerful and auspicious day for creating good imprints in your mind with the positive potential of any actions performed on this day being multiplied many hundreds of thousands of times.
Everyone welcome to attend including families.
