About the series and the past few classes
This summer Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche is giving a series of auspicious Sutrayana and Vajrayana practices. These teachings allow students to understand what cultivation is, and what is Buddha’s guidance on the cultivation path, how to cultivate successfully, how to establish the logic clearly, and how we should cultivate, Rinpoche is using the simple and clear way to understand the elements of success and the path to success. It is a very important and auspicious secret teaching.
Rinpoche insightful explanation on the Four Noble Truths is the root foundation of Buddhist logic; the various schools of cultivation do not deviate from the Four Noble Truths. The common teaching of every Buddha in every kalpa is
Do not commit any non-virtuous actions,
Perform only perfect virtuous actions,
Subdue your mind thoroughly,
This is the teaching of the Buddha.
We use this as a foundation to reduce non-virtues and increase virtue. This is the way to destroy suffering and the causes of suffering. “Subdue your mind thoroughly” is the most important, it trains us to match our mind with dharma and to accumulate merits. In order to subdue our mind we must contemplate the true nature of ourselves and all phenomena in the universe, which we can only during the gap between decreasing non-virtue and increasing virtue.
All Buddhas reach enlightenment with Prajna Paramita, or the perfection of wisdom, which allows them to achieve the Dharmakaya Truth body. Our lineage special teaching is to contemplate and cultivate Buddha’s Dharmakaya Body, It’s a formless cultivation. Rinpoche is slowly guiding us during these summer classes to use formless ultimate truth as our primary logic, and the form or conventional truth as the secondary logic.
About our Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche
Combining Dharma teaching and practice, cultivation experience and realization, Rinpoche blesses and guides our mind to become purer and purer, closer and closer to merge with the Buddha’s mind, guiding sentient beings on the path of away from suffering. Each class is very auspicious, and contains the secret of successful cultivation in it through his experience.
Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche is committed to promote pure Dharma present during Buddha's time and also present in Lama Atisha's Kadampa tradition. Not only does Rinpoche always personally practice diligently, he pays very close attention to his disciples, a very rare and Good Guru in this period of time. Rinpoche is aware of current Buddhist cultivators’ problems, and bears the responsibility to nurture a group of real practitioners, true disciples of the Buddha. His wish is to restore the cultivators’ pure attitude - humility, honesty, kindness, purity – like the disciples of the Buddha’s time.
"Rinpoche observed that during Buddha’s time, amidst his disciples there was harmony and not competition for reputation. They were very open to find their mistakes and fix them because they did not hold themselves as special; they held honesty, humility, kindness and purity. All the focus was on how to improve so it was very easy for them to have the attainment with these conditions. Also, later, disciples of Atisha’s Kadampa lineage showed those same four qualities.
In this period, if cultivators can develop those same qualities then maybe you can improve very fast like at that time.Your progress is based on your situation, how you perform on all these points that Rinpoche has taught. It is not based on your title or your reputation or whether you are a ‘professional cultivator’. If your mind can contemplate the teachings deeply and hold and increase the qualities of honesty, humility, kindness and purity then your cultivation will develop fast. Rinpoche hopes his students can gradually train themselves to develop these qualities. “
Students that are new to our lineage teachings are welcome to join. Those new to this teaching can ask for help to "catch up" on the lectures with the help of senior students; however, the mind-transmission practices are only available from live attendance with Rinpoche. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
