Shindo Muso-ryu Jojutsu training

  • Karate International of Cary

  • Our jojutsu study group will be meeting on Wednesday nights at Karate International of Cary for training in the beginners curriculum of Shindo Muso-ryu jojutsu. Shindo Muso-ryu is a style focused on the use of the jo, or medium-length staff, to defeat the sword. It was used to train police forces in Kuroda-han, in southern Japan, from the 1600's on through the Bakumatsu, and is still used for riot police training in modern Japan. Besides the jo, students also learn the use of the sword and various other weapons such as jutte and kusarigama.
