This is a group for women who want to walk...move...and exercise more, but would find it much more enjoyable and easier to commit to on a regular basis if we had some good company who would 'walk and talk' with them! The idea is that we'd distract each other with our conversation and hardly notice that we just burned some calories and got an aerobic work out! I'm a chatty Brit from Northern England and I'm looking to meet new people and find some like minded locals who would enjoy having a group activity like this to commit to -'walking and talking' on a regular basis. I couldn't see an existing local meet up like this, so I decided to have a go at creating my own. Let's get our heart rates up a bit and feel the aerobic benefit. The English in me is not a fan of exercising in the heat, so I'll be choosing some local routes that have us in shade at least some of the time through the summer :) The walks will be local in the Shoreline area and aiming to be an hour in length. We plan to keep walking through the fall and winter as the weather changes and it darkens. So wrap up and bring a flash light!
I will bring my small dog Zoe on most walks. This isn't intended to be a dog walking group, but if you wish to bring your dog on a walk, please only bring dogs that are likely to keep up with the pace and who also will enjoy being around a small dog (My dog Zoe) and a group of people. Please post a comment stating if you plan to bring your dog so other members are aware. I've added the requirement to have a profile photo of yourself so that everyone knows who is who.
