We will be serving refreshments. The Wampum Chapter's monthly business meeting is held on the third Monday of each month, 6:00 PM at the Wampum Depot Train Station and we invite all to attend for an evening of North Country Trail camaraderie.

  • NCT/DCNR Trail Building to Breakneck Falls - McConnell's Mill State Park

    This is a message from the DCNR Conservation Volunteer System. Breakneck Falls Trail, McConnells Mill State Park Tuesday, June 11,[masked]:00 PM – 7:00 PM Meet at Eckert Bridge Join park staff and volunteers from the North Country Trail Association for a Volunteer Trail Work Day at Breakneck Falls Trail. Work will entail moving large boulders, cutting in a new trail to access the falls and hauling stone for top dressing the trail. Bring water, sturdy shoes, work clothes, work gloves and a friend. Work fulfills community service and service project requirements. No registration necessary, but if you plan to bring a group, please call the park office[masked] to let us know.     Highland Drive trailhead

    This will be an 8 mile hike.We will meet at the Highland Drive trailhead ,then shuttle hikers to the fire tower in Cook Forest.Shuttles start at 10 AM.

    Join the Wampum Chapter at The Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe - for our monthly 'nuts and bolts' discussion of what's going on with the North Country Trail in Beaver and Lawrence counties. We always have hikes, trail work, new trail through the woods, outreach activities, and special projects in the works and all input is appreciated.

  • Trailwork in Gamelands 95

    1503 W Sunbury Rd

    June 3-4 Trailwork Days in Gamelands 95. Help DR mow, trim, blaze,etc. No experience necessary. Meet 8am at 1503 West Sunbury Rd (Rt 308 N of West Sunbury) work to 4pm with break for lunch. Bring drinks, snacks, dress for weather. Forecast is for dry, sunny weather but trail may be muddy.

  • ANF Chapter JUNE Trailwork Weekend

    Needs a location

    On this weekend, we will be doing clearing and DR mowing in preparation for the A-100. This weekend will encompass worksites along the southern 50 miles. Join us for one day of the weekend or come for both and camp out with us overnight. We can camp either at the forest service campsites at the top of Salmon Run Road or the Army Corps of Engineers campground (fee area) at the Kelletville bridge. On both Saturday and Sunday we’ll meet at 10 AM at the bridge parking area. This is located on the south side of bridge over the Tionesta Creek on Branch Rd at N 41°[masked]’ W 79°[masked]’. Remember that “many hands make light work”. We invite all interested hikers to come out and enjoy a day in the woods! All you need to bring is appropriate clothing for the weather, water, lunch, and work gloves. All tools are provided, and no special skills are required. Anyone can help improve the trail, no matter your abilities. Hope to see you there!

  • National Trails Day Hike

    National Trails Day Hike - Experience the outdoors in Butler County and sample drinks (soft drinks or alcoholic drinks) at the county's eight breweries. Join us in the Hike Local - Drink Local event at 10 a.m. June 1 at four sites in the county. Anyone who completes one of the four 2-mile hikes will earn a certificate that can been redeemed at any of the eight breweries. The certificate is good for one free drink when another drink is bought and is good only on June 1. The Hike Local - Drink Local hike in Butler County is sponsored by the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, the Butler Outdoor Club, the Butler County Chapter of the North Country Trail Association, and the breweries in the county. This event is held in conjunction with National Trails Day, which is a day to encourage the public to enjoy the outdoors. It is promoted by the American Hiking Society.

    Wednesday Trailcare Each Wednesday through May we will meet 9am at the Point Parking Area in McConnells Mill State Park to improve the trails. No experience necessary; tools will be provided. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring water and snacks.
