Mystified by maps? Confused by compasses? Would you like to find out more about map reading and how to use a compass? Whether you are a beginner or an experienced map reader, here's a chance to plan a walk on a Tuesday evening then you can walk the same route on Sunday 29th June if you like.
We shall be using O.S. 1:25,000 Explorer map 193, Luton and Stevenage. If you happen to have a copy it would be useful to bring it but not essential, as maps will be provided. If you have a compass, it would be useful to bring it along - but also not essential.
The activity will start at around 8.30pm and last approximately 1hr. Our Tuesday evening social meetings end with a round up of forthcoming events including weekends away which are available for booking, so if you would like to see what we do in addition to day and evening walks, pick up a newsletter, apply for membership, and even book on a weekend, (if you have taken out membership) this is a good opportunity to join us for a fun and informative evening. Did I say we always finish Tuesdays with a visit to the pub?
If arriving by car, please do not park in Stevenson Close. There are usually spaces in the lay-bys on Netherlands Road and on the road opposite our meeting place.
