• Learn To Play Dungeons & Dragons

    Gamers Vault

What to expect: we’ll start by choosing from the pregenerated characters that are included in the box set to play through the game with (two fighters, a cleric, a wizard, and a rogue). If more than 5 people show up, we’ll play characters collaboratively - which is to say if 10-15 people show up, then two-to-three people will collaboratively play each character, making decisions, rolls and deductions together. This is ideal for a learn-to-play setting and makes for an even more social experience. We did this with great success in our first session, where 10 players were in attendance. We're going to dive right in and pick up where we left off after our May 7 game. If you were not in attendance, not to worry! We'll provide a full recap of the previous session's story to make sure everyone knows what's going on. Learning will occur as we play through the adventure, and we'll stop for brief rule explanations in their proper context as needed. The Basic Box Set is “rules light,” designed specifically for new players who have no experience. So if you’re concerned about your lack of rules knowledge, don't be! This is the environment you want to be in! It will take anywhere for 6-12 events to get through the Lost Mines Of Phandelver (this is event no. 2), so if you can’t make an event, not to worry. Drop into whatever sessions fit into your schedule and we'll make sure to fill you in on the details. Please RSVP if you’d like to attend this event so I can properly prepare. I’d appreciate it.

    Pop Inn Bar & Restaurant

Alright Adventurers, after visiting the Pop Inn in Chalfont, I decided I really need to host our first event here (I’m typing this out on my phone from the bar). Tuesday is actually D&D Night here as a matter of course! How can I not go with place?! Upon speaking with the owner of the business, we’re good to go for the first Tuesday in May (5/7/19). His only request was that all participants be at least 21 years of age. For anyone who wanted to bring along a younger sibling or dependent, my apologies, but the owner was firm on this point. What to expect: we’re going to start by choosing from the pregenerated characters that are included in the box set to play through the game with. If more than 4 people show up, we’ll play characters collaboratively, which is to say if 8 people show up, then two people will collaboratively play each character, making decisions and rolls and deductions together - making this an even more social game than D&D already is. I’m really looking forward to trying this out. After we get the characters all settled up in the first 30 minutes, we’re going to dive right in and play the game. Learning will occur as we play through the adventure, as we stop for brief rule explanations as need arises. The Basic Box Set is “rules light,” designed specifically for new players who have no experience. So if you’re concerned about your lack of rules knowledge, no worries! This is the environment you want to be in! It will take anywhere for 6-12 events to get through the Lost Mines Of Phandelver, so if you can’t make an event, not to worry. We’ll recap each event in the discussion part of this MeetUp. Drop into whatever sessions fit into your schedule and we'll make sure to fill you in on the details. Please RSVP if you’d like to attend this event so I can properly prepare. I’d appreciate it. Lastly, this is a bar/restaurant. I’m sure this goes without saying, but please patronize our hosts at the event with your business. Hope to see you there!
