Workshops and lectures are forming!
Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills with safety strategies and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully resist and escape violent attacks.
Self-Defense training can increase your options and help you prepare responses to de-escalate, or interrupt an attack. Like any tool, the more you know about it, the more informed you are to make a decision and to use it.
What does the Workshop Cover?
Workshop activities and discussion are designed to help women identify risks, evaluate their strengths, and to explore their options for dealing with the threat of violence. Class activities focus on awareness, body mechanics & language, and practicing verbal & physical strategies.
- Situational Awareness
- Self Protection outside of the home
- De-escalation & Disengagement Strategies
- Techniques against common holds and strikes
- Techniques for ground survival
- Legalities for self-defense
- Weapons and alternatives
Who can Take the Workshop?
Everyone can improve their skills and expand their options in case of an
attempted attack. You do not have to be athletic to use the techniques taught.
