4 hour Self-Defense Workshop in Everett, WA
2018 is the year you will learn self-defense strategies! This 4-hour program is developed by the American Women's Self Defense Association ( and is based on three (3) principles: Awareness, De-escalation, and Engagement. After attending our workshop, you will be able to identify risks, evaluate your strength, and explore options for dealing with the threat of violence. In addition, you will also be educated on the legalities of self-defense in Washington state and how to have that conversation with law enforcement after an incident. This program is designed for women who have NO martial arts experience, so you do not need to have any martial arts background. The class is open to women/girls from 12 years to 65 years old. For minors, a consent form will need to be signed by the parent/guardian prior to the beginning of class. Pre-registration is REQUIRED, and space is LIMITED. We offer 100% guarantee so if after you have attended the workshop and you are not happy in any way, we will give you a full refund no questions ask! Price is $55 per person to cover rental and administration costs and to give scholarships to women who cannot afford the program. Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills with safety strategies and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully resist and escape violent attacks.

Self-Defense training can increase your options and help you prepare responses to de-escalate, or interrupt an attack. Like any tool, the more you know about it, the more informed you are to make a decision and to use it.

What does the Workshop Cover?

Workshop activities and discussion are designed to help women identify risks, evaluate their strengths, and to explore their options for dealing with the threat of violence. Class activities focus on awareness, body mechanics & language, and practicing verbal & physical strategies.

Who can Take the Workshop?

Everyone can improve their skills and expand their options in case of an
attempted attack. You do not have to be athletic to use the techniques taught.

Instructor, Adina Gonzales has over 10 years of Martial Arts training and expertise and is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt in Judo and trains in Brazilian Jujitsu. Adina is also certified instructor for the American Women's Self-Defense Association.
