My most frequent favorite walk is along Lynn Shore Drive from the Red River Bistro at the Swampscott end to Tides across the Nahant causeway. Other favorite places are Lynn Woods and Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. And there's the Parker River Refuge on Plum Island, a visual treat at any time of year, whether walking near the marshes or along the beaches. It's just one flat mile but the Marginal Way in Ogunquit is pretty, especially out of season. Fresh Pond in Cambridge, Jamaica Pond, and Arlington reservoir are other short, flat walks that are pretty. Pac Monadnoc is a steep but very short hike that I have enjoyed in the past and might like to try again.
Yes, though I'm often too sweaty to be seen in public before having a shower! All my favorite walking places are near terrific restaurants and cafes.
Hello, I'm semi-retired these days so have the leisure to spend time in beautiful places and the financial restraints to limit myself to New England locations for the most part. I'm joining in hopes of making new friends to walk and talk with!
