This is a 5-week course on WEDNESDAYS starting 21st February 2018, with each class 2-hours duration, 7-9pm. That's 10 hours of face to face classes!

A short video covering each week's material is provide following each lesson to allow students to practice more effectively from home, as well as all the hand-outs you need.

Focus for the course is expanding the use of scales, learning some new picking techniques, and use several chord melodies to pull it together with some more advanced strumming.

The course is only 5 weeks in duration. 2-hours per week. Based in the Dougherty Centre, Victor Street Chatswood

Pre-requisites –PLEASE READ and ENSURE YOU MEET THESE before RSVPing

Completed Beginner Level I or:

Can read basic notation, and tabs

Can play C Major, C Pentatonic, and C Chromatic scales in home position

Can strum basic thumb and finger strums, including DU and missing beats.

Knows the following chord shapes in home position:

C, C7,D,D7,Dm, E7,Em,F,F7,G,G7,Gm,A, A7,Am,Bb

More Chord Melodies, including multi-part ensemble work.

Pick/Strum and Ghost Notes

Minor/Major 7ths (Theory), Intro to Minor scales

Harmonising the C-scale

Introduce Blues scale

Learning Outcomes:

Better understanding of how notes of scales make up melodies for picking and chord melody.
Improve dexterity of fingers by learning new picking patterns and scales

Increase chord repertoire, including some shapes up the neck

Increase strumming pattern repertoire Having fun!

Total course fee $120, payable online via PayPal or in cash on the first night.
