*UPDATE: The Texas Search One Team K-9 (http://www.searchone.org/) unit will be attending complete with their mobile command center!
Welcome to Mr. Cromer's 130 year old house! Carpenters and landscapers are welcome!
Mr. Cromer has secured the 300 acre wheat field that surrounds his property for us. He also offers a workshop (with enough tools to build a fort) as well as his backyard!
When you come in be careful on the road, it's paved but narrow and has a lot of places for a kid to pop out of nowhere on you.
The flight line will begin when you pass the fence into the wheat field. All parking should be in the front of the house if possible and staging should be located in the back yard. Kids are welcome. If you have dog or cat allergies be aware, he has both creatures roaming the property.
We are asking for donations to get a Port-A-Potty (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=FHXF42CAFGWE2&lc=US&item_name=NTDUG&item_number=Bathroom%20Service¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted) in place, I will send out an email when we reach the full cost ($155), otherwise I will personally see to it that we have one available.
Since we have had a great time with after action video from our fly ins I would like to go ahead and give warning. The fly-in will end at 5 and we will meet at the Metro Grill (http://metrogrilltexas.com/) over in Ferris, about 5 miles from Mr. Cromer's house. It's a VERY TASTY PHILLY CHEESESTEAK being offered there!
As usual, no driving onto the wheat field and don't fly over the house...although the trees are more than 50 feet high and will likely snag you right out of the sky if you do!
**This event is rain or shine. If our venue is a wash-out, for weather or politics, an alert will be announced/posted.
The site selection committee is always looking for new and varied flying sites. If you have one in mind, or even a suggestion on what to look for send me a message to add it to a site list. If possible, please provide a description of the field, a Google/Bing map link, and a point of contact for that location (if there is one.)
Please send me a message if you would like to serve on the site selection committee as well. The committee will meet briefly, via in person or via VOIP, once or twice a month as needed to consider and select locations for the group.
Keep it safe, we look forward to seeing you (and all of your fingers) at the flight line.
