This new group organises hikes, cycle rides (both on and off road), weekend adventures, holidays and social events. It is run by a core of volunteers who give up their time to organise and host events, we aim to be a very active group hosting something pretty much every week. In order to defray the site costs we charge an annual membership fee of only £5 per year, payable by paypal family and friends to firstname.lastname@example.org. This charge must be paid before membership is made live.
The group will organise around 30 walks per year (mostly in Wales and the North West), 10 cycle rides and 2 or 3 weekends away. Its also open to members to organise events such as theatre trips, pub crawls, cinema or any kind of social.
The group is all about its members and everyone is encouraged to host events, if you need help just contact any of the leadership team. The emphasis is upon staying fit, healthy and having fun!
Obviously, some of the events involve risk and all participants are reminded that you join events at your own risk and that our event hosts are not professionals. You also need to make sure you are properly prepared and equipped for the more challenging events.
Following concerns about safety of members, please ensure you have a photo which allows other members to identify you. Applications without such an image will be rejected.
This is just a marker at the moment. I'm thinking of doing a tour of China either September 2018 or early in 2019. There are some amazing places to see and mountains to climb. At this stage I would suggest a budget of £1500 to £2500 per person in total.
Here are some ideas below:
If there is interest, I'll organise some training hikes and other events to sort planning etc.
Please only sign up if:
• You can afford or can save up for the cost
• You will do training hikes
• You are prepared to rough it
• You will help organise
• Will take at least 2 weeks leave
• You understand that this won't be a professionally guided tour
• You accept I will be on holiday too!
I think such a tour would involve a maximum of 6 people.
