PIRATES COVE is one of Marin County's smallest & most secluded beaches located in the Marin County Headlands within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. After 8 exhilarating miles of fairly past paced hiking we’ll take lunch at the cove and enjoy the surf, sand & ocean views. This will be an AWESOME early FALL hike to experience the lush beauty of the Marin Headlands. This hike is ideal for fit hikers who can easily handle 10 Miles of hiking and 2000ft. of elevation gain.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Members who can handle a 10 mile hike at average speed of 2.5 mph. Event is reserved for members only. If you want to bring a guest, they must be a member of the group and be on the YES list to attend this event.
HOW TO ATTEND: All members are required to answer the RSVP questions when you sign up. Members with a "no-show" history will be moved to the wait list for members who do not have a "no-show" history.
WHAT TO BRING: Layered clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, wind & sun protection, extra water, snacks/lunch.
ROUTE: This 10 mile loop hike combines the Coastal, Tennessee Valley, Miwok, Coyote Ridge & Green Gulch trails for UNPARALLELED VIEWS of the Marin Headlands & Pacific Ocean!

From SF, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and drive North on U.S. 101 for 4 miles. Take the Mill Valley/Stinson Beach/Highway 1 exit and continue straight for one mile to a stoplight at shoreline highway (Highway 1). Turn Left on Shoreline Highway and drive 5.2 miles, then turn left on Pacific Way (by the Pelican Inn). Drive .5 mile on Pacific Way to the Muir Beach parking lot. Meet on the southwest side of the lot near the restrooms.
Please be aware that we expect you to take responsibility for your safety while we are out on the trails. This means arriving ON TIME to leave with the group, being prepared with adequate hiking gear, hike fee and making sure the difficulty level of the event IS NOT beyond the limits of your health & conditioning. In addition, please show COURTESY to fellow members by changing your **YES* RSVP to a **NO** if your plans change. **IMPORTANT** Members who regularly sign-up for events, but who DO NOT show-up, may be removed from the list, to make room for more reliable members.
