In celebration of National Trails Day, Timucuan Trail Parks Foundation, Talbot Islands State Parks, and REI are hosting
a trail maintenance workday.
When: Saturday, June 8, 2013, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Where: Big Talbot Island, Old Kings Highway Trail

(meet at the Bluffs parking at Big Talbot to walk across A1A to the trailhead

What: Trail maintenance - lopping and chopping and clearing trails. We will be

trimming vegetation and removing fallen debris from the historic, Old Kings Highway Trail. This trail is located in the maritime forest and is in an area of dense vegetation.

Other: Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy shoes to protect your
extremities while working. A pair of gloves and a hat and bug spray are also recommended . Also, bring loppers and/ or clippers if you have them. Other trail tools will be provided and trimming techniques will be explained prior to work. Extra gloves, water and snacks will be provided.
Children should be 13 and older. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
