This is the North Florida Trailblazers chapter of the Florida Trail Association. Florida Trail Association We are responsible for sections of the Florida Trail in the Osceola National Forest, along the Suwanee River near White Springs, Gold Head State Park, Camp Blanding, and even the Keystone Airport.
We follow state guidelines to mow, prune, and blaze each section so that it looks the same as every other FT section across the state.
No experience is necessary! You do need to be prepared to be out in the woods for at least a few hours; bring food, water, bug spray. and wear good solid shoes (no sandals). Each hike is led by a leader who coordinates carpooling and hauling the mowers. It is very important that the leader know you are coming to his work hike, so make sure you call ahead for the details. You can come for the day or, usually, we campout that night.
It's a great feeling to finish a section of Trail and know that your work helps somebody else to enjoy it!
