Join Us at our NWSA Monthly Meeting

Ahoy all sailors! Happy New Year!

Are you ready for another wonderful season of sailing with NWSA? We are a social sailing club since 1975. Our parent organization boasts upwards of 250 members of whom one-third have boats and the rest of us crew. Everyone is invited to join the monthly meeting (held January through October) in Arlington Heights at the Historical Society. Usually 60-70 NWSA parent organization members attend.

After a brief business meeting which will include a discussion of the upcoming 2013 sailing schedule, there will be a refreshment break, perfect for socializing. Then we'll enjoy a presentation from club member Lou Muno, a professional captain and navigator about Great Lakes Freighters and why you want to avoid them when you're out sailing. After the meeting continue socializing at Eddie's pub nearby.

So come aboard. Get involved with NWSA. Start your spirits soaring as you anticipate the sailing season. Get to know many like-minded sailors and enjoy their camaraderie at our meetings. Swap tips and information so that you are ready for our sails on Lake Michigan from harbors all around Chicago, northern IL, Racine, Kenosha as well as sails on Lake Mendota, Lake Geneva, Green Lake and Bangs Lake to name a few. We'll be out on the water beginning in May. Join us now and monthly to get involved in planning the season.

Find detailed membership information including application form and dues info for individual or family membership (adults 18 y.o.+) at home website Once you are a paid member, your dues cover the entire season (May through October) of sails; there are no additional fees to participate in a sail, but paid membership must be in place beforehand. Plan ahead so you won't be disappointed about joining a particular sail.

Let us know, if you have any questions. Meanwhile, look for us at the January meeting and bring a guest.

See you there!
