One of the Great Photographic Opportunities in Georgia!

Gibbs Gardens covers 200+ acres of North Georgia foothills and offers something new every 2-3 weeks. The web link will take you to a full description of the Gardens and Jim Gibbs' commitment to provide this horticultural gem to the people of Georgia. Peaking in late September will be the spectacular water lilies, roses, wildflowers, and perennials. There will also be remnants of the profuse summer bloom of hydrangeas along with limitless opportunities for reflection shots in the many ponds in the valley gardens.

The gardens has a cafe. Pass in/out and tailgating is permitted but outside food, beverages, or coolers may not be brought into the gardens. There are no convenient restaurants outside the gardens.

Carpooling: Cracker Barrel has said that vehicles can be parked behind their restaurant if we wish. They will not accept responsibility for damage, but their lot is monitored by closed circuit cameras. Let me know if you plan to meet at Cracker Barrel. Otherwise I will expect to see you at 9:00 am at Gibbs Gardens.

No limit to the number of photographers, but sign up is needed so that we know how many to expect.

Very nice day. Our first meet-up, of hopefully many, as a club. Don, Mary, Stewart, Steve, Barbara (and her Mom), Bennie, Jerry, TiDi, Debbie, David and I had a great day. Hope to see lots more of you on our next field trip...which we are working on right now, by the way. Jim Gibbs says the absolute peak of fall color is the last week of Oct. and the first week of Nov. Working on that plus Don is working on a field trip in Gwinnett County.

Anyone that needs to sign up - the updated GNPA web site is working.

On the left of the GNPA Home page - click on the 3rd tab at the left "GNPA Wide Events" that will open another list - click on the 3rd option "Open for Registration". The Gibbs trip is the first listed (in chronological order). If you run into problems, please let Horace know.

The registration for the Gibbs Gardens Field Trip is now up and running on the GNPA web site. Go to the GNPA site, click on the "Events" Tab at the top of the Home page and it will be the first event listed (events are arranged by calendar date). I will miss out on this trip due to a previously scheduled trip for that Saturday. Rats.
